A new school term is typically added when a new school year begins, and the students change classes. Examples:
School term = 2024-2025
School term = 2025-2026
To create a new school term, follow these steps:
On the school admin page, click on the “School terms” menu button
Click on the green “Add school term” button
Enter the school term name and date range
Click on the “Save changes” menu button

School terms can also be used to separate geographically separate parts of the same school, where the students, classes and teachers are different for the same
school year. Examples:
School term = 2025-2026 Bothell
School term = 2025-2026 Kirkland
School term = 2025-2026 Shoreline
Within the same school term, you can use “Statistics periods” to create student reports that span a specific date range. Examples:
Statistic period = Fall semester
Statistic period = Spring semester
Statistic period = Full school year
You can copy school data from a previous school term to the new school term as follows:
Return to the school admin page
Switch to the new school term (that was just created)
Click on the “Copy school data” menu button
If the same students return for the new school term, but will be assigned to new classes:
- Click on the “Do not assign teachers to classes or students to classes”
- You can complete these assignments after copying the data
